Old Fashioned

This tasty concoction has been around so long there's a fair bit of debate as to the exact origins. Some argue that rye whiskey is a more appropriate ingredient than the bourbon we mention here. If you can find a good rye, then by all means give it a whirl. Otherwise, a respectable bourbon does just dandy.

We'd also suggest one not muddle one's Old Fashioned down with an overabundance of fruit; the ingredients below provide all the flavor a proper Old Fashioned ever needs. Raise this classic cocktail to your granddad. Then, raise it to his granddad. If you learn to make Old Fashioneds the old fashioned way, you're sure to do them both proud.
